Cass Community Social Services is a Detroit-based agency dedicated to providing food, housing, health services, and job programs. In recent years, they hosted our own University of Michigan Alternative Spring Break students and have collaborated with these same students to create, “Detroit Treads,” sandals. They also create and sell other goods, such as mud mats and macreme rubber plant holders to help support their mission to fight poverty and create opportunity: Cass Community Social Services needed our help during the Holidays for Mud Mat assembly, Kitchen cleaning, and meal preparation duties. In 2015, we had 50 alumni participate in this combined effort.
Cass Community Social Services now needs our help during the Holidays for Mud Mat assembly. We need 25 alumni for this effort.
We have arranged one shift for Saturday, 12/16/2017. If we have to start a waitlist after the first 25, we will consider a second shift in the afternoon.
9:00 am – 12:00 pm Recycled Materials Door Mat Assembly (25 people needed).
