Claire will attend the University of Michigan's College of LSA, double majoring in Biology and Spanish, on a pre-med track. A senior at Southfield Christian High School, Claire has taken 11 AP/Dual Enrollment Courses and been recognized as an AP Scholar with Distinction. She was the department scholar for Biology, English, and AP Chemistry.
On top of her heavy course load, Claire participated in numerous extracurricular activities. She was the Vice President of her class for three years and earned a spot on both the Homecoming and Prom Committees. Additionally, she played Varsity Soccer for four years, Varsity Volleyball for three years, Varsity Basketball for two years, and rowed for the Detroit Boat Club for four years. A captain in all of her sports, she earned multiple Conference, District, and State titles and competed at Youth Rowing Nationals. Claire has played piano for 11 years, earning superior ratings from the National Federation of Music Clubs. She was a member of the stage crew for her school's Drama Department and spent a lot of time helping design set elements.
Throughout High School, Claire also held down two part time jobs. She worked as a cashier for Westborn market and was a lead florist for Lilacs and Laurel. With a heart for supporting her community, Claire logged hundreds of volunteer hours working at food outreach programs, educational summer camps, and supporting Spanish-speaking communities. In her free time, Claire enjoys backpacking, traveling, reading, and painting. She is extremely grateful for this scholarship and is excited to spend the next four years at the University of Michigan!
